Synopsis

The book consists of chapters written by members of the research project “Aesthetic and Critical Materials from the Global South in Feminist and Decolonial Revolts and Insurgencies” (based at CIFFyH-UNC and funded by SeCyT-UNC), which converge around three thematic clusters centered on the notion of “situated knowledge” developed by Donna Haraway from a feminist, anti-racist, and pro-Marxist perspective, a position she has upheld in the field of Science and Technology since the late 1980s but which has been shaping and fostering a way of producing and validating knowledge in alignment with feminist thought and activism and the sexual dissidences of the Global South from that time to the present, namely: “I. Situated in Fictions: Beyond or Here of the Human”; “II. Situated in Bodies and Writings of Sexual Dissidences” and “III. Situated in Pedagogies: ESI, Bodies, Desires, and Knowledges.”
