A Sky Without Bars: The Intellectual Liberation of a Trapped Body

This book is the result of the participation of students deprived of their liberty in the International Conference of Thesis Students and Researchers on Prisons and Education (EITICE) held in 2025. Participating in this academic conference and continuing a series of contributions to this and other gatherings of researchers and students enabled the students, among other things, to learn how to write a paper and present it virtually. The purpose of this publication is to share the texts produced by students who are exercising their right to education and their status as members of the university community from within prisons. All of these texts reflect a specific and meaningful experience that might otherwise have remained invisible to other members of the university community—faculty, staff, researchers, and even their fellow students—as well as to society at large.
