Synopsis

This publication analyzes everything from letters written by women in the 19th century to technologically-driven literary expressions in contemporary times, including an analysis of films by Jorge Sanjinés and a narrative from this century that continually questions the pressing times in which we live. These are not “cases” but rather links that contribute to the interpretation of a dynamic reality—one that is not exclusively Bolivian, but rather Latin American. The volume does not focus so much on highlighting “results” from the research, but rather on presenting the recurring themes, uncertainties, and points of contact that the research team has been exploring over time. From a critical perspective, it is possible to reframe, reconstruct, and reexamine the boundaries, languages, and territories—the key elements upon which hegemonies were built and the power structures were deconstructed—that led (or did not lead) to the inclusion of certain authors and texts in the fields of Bolivian and Latin American literature.
