Synopsis

Palimpsesto. Militancias, dictaduras y derechos humanos (Palimpsest: Activism, Dictatorships, and Human Rights) is the first publication in the “Colecciones del CIFFyH” series for 2022. It offers a journey through works that explore three concepts that articulate the book: activism, dictatorships, and human rights. Based on these concepts, the publication highlights significant advances made by members of the Militancias, dictaduras y derechos humanos en la historia reciente de Córdoba (SECyT-CIFFyH) team and by guests who participated in some of the activities promoted by this space.

In this sense, this publication builds and sustains a collaborative agenda between inter-faculty university actors and members of memory spaces who, based on a dialogue of knowledge, participated in interventions, debates, and diverse practices that helped to problematize the processes of politicization, depoliticization, and repoliticization in light of the transformations and continuities in the recent history of Córdoba.

As stated in its introduction, the book was conceived as a palimpsest, where the various writings are layered and interwoven, revealing different emphases and times in each contribution. In other words, militancy, dictatorships, and human rights are dissociated interpretively but are highly interconnected in recent history, not only because of the sociohistorical configuration of the latter, but also because of the recurrence of mutual incidents.

Furthermore, the writings are as diverse as their authors: Leandro Inchauspe, María Paula Puttini, Lucía Avendaño, Romina Molina, Laura Bonafé, Marina Giraudo, María Victoria Tejeda, Ana Carol Solis, Janet Florencia Paez, Guadalupe Samoluk, Fátima Boccetti, and Emiliano Fessia; with equally varied backgrounds, training, and experiences that, taken together, hope to appeal to different readers.

Despite the pandemic and the vicissitudes of life under stress, this book is an expression of an effort that goes beyond individualities and personal paths. Like a palimpsest, we hope that reading this book will inspire new writings and interventions that bring different forms of knowledge into dialogue.

"Palimpsest. Militancies, Dictatorships, and Human Rights" is part of the CIFFyH Collections, an initiative of the María Saleme de Burnichon Research Center (FFyH) in conjunction with the FFyH Publications Department, which seeks to strengthen the production and dissemination of the work of the Center's research groups, encourage the participation of students, graduates, and teachers in the production and circulation of knowledge, and create institutional spaces that enable such circulation.
