CIFFyH
The María Saleme de Burnichon Research Center for Philosophy and Humanities (CIFFyH) was created in 1987 to stimulate and promote research within the Faculty. It was formed by bringing together various institutes that carried out their work in each School. In 1987, with the creation of the CIFFyH, the researchers from these institutes, together with the professors who conducted research from their departments, formed the primary structure of the Center, creating different areas of research. In its early days, Argentina was still timidly treading the new path of restored democracy, and the group of people who undertook its formation—authorities, teachers, students, non-teaching staff—shared the conviction that the goal of academic excellence in the work to be carried out in the Faculty inevitably required a strengthening of research that would take the form of regular academic meetings and publications.
